Mozart and the Monkey

This is little Mozart, aka the Monkey. A few weeks ago Dillan decided that he wanted to play the piano like Mommy. The story goes a little something like this....

For months now, Dillan enjoys sitting on the floor and listening to the piano. It magically calms him down. So whenever he gets fussy and nothing else works Mommy sits at the piano and plays (and sometimes sings) for him. He loves primary songs! He will happily play on the floor or in the exersaucer next to the piano for a long time. One day Mommy was singing for him and she noticed that he was sqwealing all through the song. When the song ended he looked up at her and smiled. Mommy thought this was interesting so she hit a key on the piano and he screeched in pitch. Not wanting to jump to conclusions she hit a different key and again he screeched in pitch with that key. He did this 4 times in a row. The Monkey is only 7 months old so Mommy thought this was amazing!

Now, Mommy picks Dillan up and sits him on her lap at the piano and he loves to hit the keys and make "music." Daddy even caught the monkey standing up in front of the piano reaching for the keys because no one would let him sit on their lap. So this morning Mommy pushed the bench in and sat Dillan by himself to play while she supervised and he loved it! If you walk over by the piano for any purpose he will reach for it. It is really cute! Maybe we will actually have a musician on our hands. Mommy sure hopes so.
