Dillan has successfully climbed an entire flight of stairs by himself now. Last night he decided that he would go to the bathroom for his bath all by himself. It took him about 5 minutes, but he got all the way up there.
He hasn't grasped the concept of getting down so one of us has to follow him all the way up to make sure he doesn't topple down. We get enough bumps from the coffee table downstairs and don't need any more.
The second tooth is coming in as well. It makes for a grumpy baby, but his little smile is going to be so cute with those two bottom teeth! If you thought it was cute before...just wait.

Mozart and the Monkey
This is little Mozart, aka the Monkey. A few weeks ago Dillan decided that he wanted to play the piano like Mommy. The story goes a little something like this....
For months now, Dillan enjoys sitting on the floor and listening to the piano. It magically calms him down. So whenever he gets fussy and nothing else works Mommy sits at the piano and plays (and sometimes sings) for him. He loves primary songs! He will happily play on the floor or in the exersaucer next to the piano for a long time. One day Mommy was singing for him and she noticed that he was sqwealing all through the song. When the song ended he looked up at her and smiled. Mommy thought this was interesting so she hit a key on the piano and he screeched in pitch. Not wanting to jump to conclusions she hit a different key and again he screeched in pitch with that key. He did this 4 times in a row. The Monkey is only 7 months old so Mommy thought this was amazing!
Now, Mommy picks Dillan up and sits him on her lap at the piano and he loves to hit the keys and make "music." Daddy even caught the monkey standing up in front of the piano reaching for the keys because no one would let him sit on their lap. So this morning Mommy pushed the bench in and sat Dillan by himself to play while she supervised and he loved it! If you walk over by the piano for any purpose he will reach for it. It is really cute! Maybe we will actually have a musician on our hands. Mommy sure hopes so.

Razor Sharp
This is a monkey update. The monkey has his first tooth now! It popped through some time in the last 24 hours or so. You can feel it with your finger and barely see it. It is pretty sharp too! So we only have to go through the whining, grumpy, crying Dillan for lets say another 30 times or so and they we will have a full mouth! Woo Hoo!

Sprinklers
I had a funny experience this morning that I thought I would share. Dillan and I had taken a shower and he was sitting on the floor in a towel while I dried off and put some clothes on. He wriggled out of the towel and crawled over to the bath tub and pulled himself up. He accomplishes that quite often so I thought nothing of it. I finished putting my bra on and went to go pick him up to put a diaper and clothes on him before I finished with myself. When I went to pick him up I realized that the floor was completely soaked! It was really gross. He had taken it upon himself to pee all over the side of the tub and the floor. Hilarious, but gross! He was proud of himself none the less and yet again after he went down for a nap I spent some time cleaning up from him. Oh the joys of motherhood!
